The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is controlling everything from headlines to personal behavior. One of the problems that have made it difficult to respond to the outbreak on a personal and national level is the lack of meaningful data. The COVID Tracking Project is hoping to change that. The Project is taking an open-source approach to collecting and reporting COVID-19 related data.

Google Updates Reporting Metrics for its Ad Manager API

Google has been regularly updating the Google Ad Manager API and this week brings news of additional changes. This latest update provides developers with new metrics for Programmatic Guaranteed and Preferred Deals. The company made the change to increase uniformity of reporting metrics across transaction types.

Hyland Document Processing Update Includes New APIs

Hyland has released new capabilities to its Document Filters product offering, launching three separate updates in the last six months. Each release aims to add additional file formats – pursuing its goal of providing the most complete filtering toolkit that can process all the files an organization encounters in a typical day. With the recent releases, Hyland now supports more than 550 file formats, of which over 75 are supported for high-definition renditions.

Dynatrace Enables Automated Monitoring with All-New Environment API

Dynatrace, an application performance management systems provider, has announced the release of the all-new Dynatrace Environment API. The new API is a part of the company’s Cluster API and appears to be in beta. Dynatrace is providing this resource to enable developers to automatically create, update, or delete monitoring environments.

69 Percent of IT Leaders Keep the Lights On Instead of Innovating. Enter APIs.

Responding to a question regarding their ability to innovate on behalf of the organizations they work for, 69 percent of IT leaders surveyed said they felt they were working just to keep the lights on versus innovating. This was the answer to one of many questions that MuleSoft posed to over 800 IT leaders, the complete results of which can be found in the 2020 edition of the company's annual Connectivity Benchmark Report.

FDX Releases Latest Version of its Financial API

The Financial Data Exchange (FDX) has released the fourth version of the FDX API, an updated standard designed to enhance interoperability and performance for the full range of supported use cases. The previous versions of the common, interoperable and royalty-free standard, which is developed by a consortium representative of the entire financial services ecosystem, were rapidly adopted by the industry and protect nearly 12 million U.S. consumers.

Oracle Introduces Java 14

Oracle recently announced Java 14. JDK 14 includes sixteen new features, most targeted at improving developer productivity. Additionally, the release includes three features in preview: Pattern Matching for instance of (JEP 305), Records (JEP 359), and Text Blocks (JEP 368).
